The 2023 FRISP meeting in Stalheim (Norway) was a great success!
Around 80 researchers from all over the world (even Australia and New Zealand!) make their way to the beautiful fjord hotel in western Norway.
The meeting evolved around exciting presentations and poster sessions, and allowed for lively discussions on anything related to ice shelf processes. The topics ranged from observations, field plans, T-S diagrams, small scale processes below and in the ice shelves, to (paleo-)modelling of the full Antarctic Ice sheet.
While FRISP meetings have been running over 35 years, this year around 40% were first-time participants. That the field is growing and is training the next generation of researchers is clear: almost 70% of FRISP 2023 participants were Master students, PhD students, or Early Career Researchers!
FRISP is a very relevant meeting place for TiPACCs, and we were proud to be well presented.
Looking forward to next year’s meeting!
